Commanding Officer

co.jpg LTJG Charlie Rassat joined the Sea Cadets in October, 2008, as POSEIDON Divisions INDOC Officer.  He has completed the Officer Professional Development 101 & 201 courses, and staffed the Petty Officer Leadership Academy (POLA) at Camp Ripley, MN in August, 2009.  Charlie was appointed the Commanding Officer of POSEIDON on September 1st, 2009.

  Charlie served in the U.S. Navy from 1989 to 1998 as a Fire Controlman.  He spent 5 years on sea duty, first as a Mk 68 Gun Fire Control System tech aboard U.S.S. Gray (FF-1054) out of San Francisco and then as a Mk 99 Missile Fire Control System tech aboard the U.S.S. John Paul Jones (DDG-53), home ported in San Diego.  Following sea duty, he was an instructor at the Aegis Training & Readiness Center in Dahlgren, VA.

As of 2010, LTJG Mike Gorecki has served the NSCC for 5 years and has held the positions of Assistant Operations Officer, Operations officer, Training Officer, and Executive Officer. Additional assignments include Webmaster, Flagship Officer, Color Guard Officer, Bus Driver, Photographer and everything in between. He has staffed seven National Trainings and has been the Commanding Officer of Three of them. LTJG Gorecki is a Veteran of the US Marine Corps (SGT) and participated in Desert Shield/Storm.  His time in the Corps found him aboard the USS Peleliu LHA-5( West PAC 90-01)  for six months  and a tour at NAS  Lemoore. Places served in are Japan, Korea, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Okinawa, Iwo Jima and Saudi Arabia.
